EU Court Rules Against Uber's Claim That It's Not A Cab Company

Uber has been trying to convince the world that it's a tech company and not a transportation company for years. The highest court in the European Union isn't buying it though. The ECJ ruled on Wednesday that any company intending “to connect, by means of a smartphone application and for remuneration, non-professional drivers using their own vehicle with persons who wish to make urban journeys” must still be considered “a service in the field of transport.”
